Bayer Leverkusen Are Crowned First Invisible Champions
Bayer Leverkusen have completed the entire German bundesliga season unbeaten for the first time in the competitions history.
This historic season for Xabi Alonso’s men has seen them score 89 goals in 28 wins and conceding just 24 in 34 Bundesliga games while keeping 16 clean sheets.
They join the only two other teams to have gone unbeaten in Europe's top five leagues this century- Arsenal in 2003-2004 and Juventus 2011-2012.
Next, they face Atalanta in the Europa League finals at the Dublin Arena in the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday 22 of May then German second division side FC Kaiserslautern in the DFB Pokal Final three days later on May 25 as they set their sights on Europe’s biggest footballing feat- Winning the treble as invisibles.
