Russia’s missile strikes Ukraine’s children hospital in fresh deadly attack.

Ukraine’s largest children's hospital in Kyiv has been hit after Russia launched a new wave of missile strikes against cities across Ukraine on Monday. With 38 people including children confirmed dead and 190 in critical conditions in Russia’s heaviest bombardment of Kyiv in almost four months

Russia has denied targeting the hospital, saying it had been hit by fragments of a Ukrainian air defence missile, while Ukraine said it had found remnants of a Russian cruise missile with the Security Service of Ukraine publishing pictures of fragments of a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile recovered from the site.

Ukraine's Defence Minister Rustem Umerov responded to the attacks by urging the country's allies to help quickly strengthen its air defense calling for a stronger Western response

“It is very important that the world should not be silent about it now and that everyone should see what Russia is and what it is doing,” President Zelensky said following the attack.

The assault unfolded a day before Western leaders who have backed Ukraine were scheduled to begin a three day NATO summit in Washington.

U.S. President Joe Biden said that Moscow's deadly missile strikes in Ukraine, including that on the children's hospital in Kyiv, were "a horrific reminder of Russia's brutality". In a statement released by the White House, Biden added that Washington and its NATO allies would be announcing new measures to strengthen Ukraine's air defences.
