Manchester United were dealt a dramatic blow against Tottenham Hotspurs at Old Trafford on Sunday. The 3-0 loss was United’s second home defeat of the season after previously losing 3-0 to bitter rivals Liverpool earlier in September.
Spurs opened the scoring just 3 minutes after kickoff thanks to a fantastic solo run from defender, Micky Van De Ven to set up Brennan Johnson. The evening became significantly worse for United after captain Bruno Fernandes saw a red card for his tackle on James Maddison followed by an injury to Kobbie Mainoo in just a matter of minutes. Dejan Kulusevski opened the second half with a goal for spurs just 2 minutes after halftime kick followed by a goal for Dominic Solanke to make it 3-0 at Old Trafford.
Aside the disappointing performance today, United will be without their captain and most valuable player for the next 3 premier league games against Aston Villa, Brentford, West Ham United as well as a possible injury scare to both Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire.
