Donald Trump has officially won the 2024 U.S. presidential election, securing a total of 312 electoral votes compared to Kamala Harris's 226.

This marks a significant comeback for the former president, as he swept all seven battleground states, including Arizona, which completed his clean sweep.

In addition to his Electoral College victory, Trump is also projected to win the popular vote, leading Harris by approximately four million votes. As of last count the popular vote count stood at 73,517,201 votes for Trump and 69,204,767 votes for Harris.

This marks Trump's first popular vote victory in his three presidential runs and the first for a Republican since George W. Bush in 2004.

Trump's victory was largely aided by capturing swing states that were previously won by President Joe Biden in 2020, including Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

The Republican Party has also regained control of the Senate, while the final outcome for the House of Representatives is still pending, with several races yet to be finalized.

This election result represents a substantial shift from pre-election predictions, which had indicated a neck-and-neck race between Trump and Harris.

Instead, Trump secured a decisive victory in both the Electoral College and the popular vote, marking a significant margin unseen for a Republican since George H.W. Bush in 1988.
