A powerful storm named Darragh swept across the United Kingdom, bringing destructive winds of up to 93mph and prompting the Met Office to issue a rare red "danger to life" warning.
The fourth named storm of the season has caused widespread disruption, leaving thousands without power and forcing the closure of major transportation routes.
The Met Office's highest-level alert covers parts of Wales and Southwest England, urging millions to stay indoors as the storm rages.
Amber and yellow warnings for wind and rain are in effect across other regions of the UK, with conditions expected to gradually improve by Sunday.
As Darragh continues its assault, authorities have sent emergency text alerts to approximately three million people, advising them to stay indoors and prepare for severe weather.
The storm has already led to numerous flight and train cancellations, bridge closures, and event postponements across the country.
