Time magazine has named Donald Trump as its Person of the Year for 2024

Marking the second time he has received this distinction. The magazine cited Trump's "political rebirth" and his "unparalleled" comeback after an assassination attempt as key factors in their decision.

Trump's selection reflects his significant impact on global affairs and American politics in 2024. He secured a decisive victory in the presidential election, winning both the popular vote and the Electoral College.

In an interview with Time, Trump discussed his campaign strategy:

"I called it '72 Days of Fury,'" Trump said. "We hit the nerve of the country. The country was angry."

The president-elect is expected to ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday to commemorate this honor.

Trump previously won the title in 2016 after his first presidential election victory. He joins a select group of U.S. presidents who have been named Person of the Year multiple times.

Regarding his plans for his upcoming term, Trump emphasized his focus on immigration and border security:

"I want to reach an agreement, and the only way you're going to reach an agreement is not to abandon," he stated, referring to Ukraine.

This recognition solidifies Trump's continued influence on American politics and his potential to reshape the country's domestic and foreign policies in the coming years.
