NFF Orders Super Falcons Coach Justine Madugu, Technical Crew to Step Down.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has directed Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu and members of his technical crew to step down from their positions with immediate effect.
The NFF announced the decision in a brief statement on its official X account.
The move follows Nigeria’s disappointing campaign at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where the Super Falcons were knocked out in the quarter-finals after a 1-0 defeat to arch-rivals Cameroon.
Nigeria also suffered a major setback in their bid to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, losing 2-1 to South Africa and missing out on a place in the inter-confederation playoffs.
Madugu had faced growing pressure over the team’s performances during the tournament.
The NFF is yet to announce replacements for Madugu and the other members of the technical crew.
