President Set to Attend UN General Assembly After Missing Last Two Editions
After missing out on the last two editions, the President is set to be physically present at the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81), scheduled to take place in New York, United States, from September 22 to 28, 2026.
The President’s planned attendance marks a return to in-person participation at the annual gathering of world leaders, which brings together representatives from member states to discuss pressing global issues.
UNGA 81 is expected to provide an opportunity for Nigeria to engage with world leaders, international organisations and other stakeholders on issues of national, regional and global importance.
The President’s physical presence is also expected to strengthen Nigeria’s representation at high-level meetings and bilateral engagements on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
Further details on the President’s official engagements and the Nigerian delegation to UNGA 81 are expected to be announced ahead of the September meeting.
