European Football Weekend Wrap-up

The closing weeks of the English premier league has proven eventful so far with Manchester City looking more likely to run away with the title after a solid 2-0 Performance against Nottingham Forest.

Bayer Leverkusen managed to get a last minute equalizer once again to earn a 2-2 draw against Stuttgart and keep their 46 game unbeaten run alive as Leipzig crushed Champions League semifinalists Borussia Dortmund 4-1 to solidify 4th place.

Harry Kane got his 35 Bundesliga goal of the season to help Bayern Munich cruise to a 2-1 victory over Frankfurt just before their crucial Champions League semifinal against Real Madrid.

Real Madrid went 14 points clear on top of Laliga after a hard fought 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad over the weekend as Atletico Madrid edged out Bilbao 3-1 at the Metropolitano.

Girona came up with a well deserved 2-0 victory against Las Palmas to move back to second place.

The battle for Europe intensifies in Serie A as Napoli were held to a 2-2 draw by Roma as Juventus played goalless with AC Milan. Crowned Champions, Inter played out a 2-0 win over Torino to maintain a strong form regardless already winning the title as Fiorentina thrashed Sassuolo 5-1.

In France, PSG became Ligue 1 champions for the 12th time after a 4-1 victory over Lorient over the weekend. As the race for Europe’s elite titles becomes fierce, some teams have already stamped their name in but the battle for UEFA European football only gets more interesting.
