Marco Reus set to leave Borusia Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus on Friday confirmed that he would be leaving the club after 12 years.

The announcement was made through a video posted on the club’s social media handle.

Reus was a pivotal part of Jurgen Klopp’s young Dortmund team that lost the champions league final to Bayern Munich back in 2013 in his first season at the club after his €17M move from fellow German club Borussia Mönchengladbach.

He has gone on to be the club’s captain since 2018, making 424 appearances while scoring 168 goals and 128 assists for Dortmund in all competitions winning 3 German Supercups and 2 DFB-Pokal.

Reus has also been capped on 48 occasions for the German National Team.

After defeating PSG 1-0 at home in the first leg of their semi final tie, the German would be hopeful of a second Champions League Final in his farewell season but this time with a win after failing to do so in his first season back in 2013.
