Nigeria as a sleeping giant

Over the years, right from when most of us were born down to this very period, which actively spans over thirty-five (35) years, Nigeria has always been known as a nation with immense potential. Unfortunately, the nation seems bewitched to never fully exploit these potentials in its lifetime.

Nigeria is a country with a total land mass of 923.77 Km Square but each time we assess the vast size of land we have and how optimally it has been exploited to solve our food and hunger problem, it dawns on everyone that the challenge of lack of effective political leadership has remained a monster. This leadership challenge seems like what would take a lifetime to be addressed except something outrightly revolutionary happens.

The need for Nigeria as a country to get its electoral processes right remains one of the phenomenal ways to chart a path for the growth of the nation. It is only when the Nigerian people can truly elect a candidate of their choice that they can hold such people accountable for their actions in office.

The need for a firm leadership that would muster the political will to engage in far-reaching implementations of policies and reforms that would aid growth can not be overemphasized.

While the Nigerian people await, the judgement from the supreme court on post-election suit as filled by the Labour Party’s candidate Mr. Peter Obi and the PDP’s Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, President Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice, Alhaji Shettima Kashim must be deliberate while they hold sway to stir Nigeria on the path of excellence by doing that which would boost our economy, ensure security of lives and property and allow full implementation of fiscal federalism to allow all the region to thrive.

The time to wake the sleeping giant to live out its full potential is now.
