BBC suspends top presenter over sexual misconduct.

The British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, has suspended a leading presenter accused of paying a teenage girl thousands of pounds to send sexually explicit photos over the course of three years.

The mother of the teenage girl first reported the accusations to the BBC in May but was displeased when the presenter was kept on air, she then went to the Sun newspaper which reported the story.

Britain's Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer held talks with the BBC’s Director-General Tim Davie regarding the alleged incident. The presenter is accused of paying $45,000 to the teenager which she allegedly used to fund a drug addiction.

The mother of the girl is reported to have not requested for payment for the story. The BBC released a statement saying they take this allegation seriously and have contacted the police as they also conduct their investigation. Several BBC presenters have come out to disassociate themselves from the case.
