G7 Issues Strong Warning: “Iran Can Never Have a Nuclear Weapon”

Leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) nations have reaffirmed their unified stance against nuclear proliferation, declaring unequivocally that Iran must never acquire a nuclear weapon.

In a joint statement released following their summit, the G7 leaders expressed deep concern over Iran’s nuclear activities and emphasized the importance of diplomacy in addressing the issue. The statement underscored the group’s commitment to ensuring that Iran’s nuclear program remains exclusively peaceful and warned of serious consequences should Tehran pursue nuclear arms.

The G7 called on Iran to fully comply with its international obligations, including cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The leaders also urged Iran to return to the negotiating table and engage in constructive dialogue to resolve outstanding issues.

“We are united in our determination that Iran can never develop or acquire a nuclear weapon,” the statement read. “We will use all available diplomatic means to prevent nuclear proliferation and maintain stability in the region.”

The statement comes amid heightened tensions and stalled negotiations over the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Western officials have repeatedly warned that Iran’s expanding nuclear activities risk undermining regional and global security.

The G7 comprises Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Their collective message signals a continued commitment to countering nuclear threats and promoting peace and security worldwide.
