Bayern held Madrid in a fierce semi-final clash.

Two of the biggest clubs in world football met for the first leg of a mouthwatering UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg.

Real Madrid came against Bayern Munich in the first Leg of the UEFA Champions League Semi final clash at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday.

After an impressive run of form in the competition this season that saw Madrid edge out Manchester City in the last round, Los blancos came against the 6 time champions in the semi final.

With both teams having fought an uphill battle to get to this stage, Real Madrid defeated defending champions Manchester City While Bayern Munich overcame Arsenal.

Vinicius Junior managed to get the opener in the 24th minute thanks to a fantastic assist from Toni Kroos as Leroy Sane got a brilliant individual equalizer in the 54th minute of the game.

With the game open for anyone to take, Bayern Munich were awarded a penalty after a foul on Jamal Musiala just 2 minutes after their equalizer and Harry Kane buried it to give the Bavarian the edge.

Another penalty was awarded in the 81st minute but this time, at the other end of the pitch as Rodrygo was held by Kim Min Jae. Vinicius once again buried it to get his second of the night and bring Madrid level on 2-2.

With the fixture open for anyone to take heading into the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu, Los Blancos will hope to confirm a spot in the Finals and a chance to challenge for their 15th Champions League Trophy and a 3rd under manager Carlo Ancelloti.
