Sex For Grades: University Of Benin Professor Called Out On Social Media.

The University Of Benin Students and Alumnus have called out a professor of the prestigious Nigerian University for allegedly raping multiple students and asking for sex in return for grades.

An internet user had stated on X (formerly Twitter) that the Professor who identifies as Tony Asekhuno, raped her in his office whilst she was still an undergraduate at the University.

After her revelation, other students who recognized the lecturer and had encountered him trooped out to share their experiences of him either making sexual advances or threatening to fail them.

According to their tweets, the lecturer would fail his victims if they refused to date or get intimate with him and sometimes he would rape them. Some of the students also noted that the institution’s management was aware of his misconduct but ignored it.

Although there is no tangible proof yet, over ten different student both former and current has come forward with stories of either rape of sex for grades with a few more highlighting he evidently had sexual relationships with students but was always mutual.

The University are yet to release a statement concerning the allegations and are reportedly set to investigate before further actions would be made public.
