Elon Musk Steps Down from Trump Administration After Five Months

Elon Musk has officially resigned from his position as head of the Department of Government Efficiency in the Trump administration, ending a turbulent five-month tenure.

Musk, who was brought in to lead aggressive cost-cutting efforts, oversaw significant reductions in federal spending and workforce.

His departure comes after he publicly criticized a new government spending bill, saying it increased the deficit and undermined the department’s mission.

“A massive spending bill like this makes our work much harder,” Musk said on social media.

Despite his exit, the Trump administration has stated that Musk’s efficiency initiatives will continue.

Musk, meanwhile, is expected to return his focus to his private companies, including Tesla and SpaceX.
