The incidents from the Senegal vs Morocco AFCON 2025 final have officially been referred to CAF’s Disciplinary Committee.
As a result:
• The Senegalese Football Federation will receive a warning and a fine up to $300,000.
• Anyone who encouraged the temporary withdrawal of players will face a suspension of at least 2 matches.
• The technical staff involved will be suspended for no less than 4 matches and fined at least $10,000.
CAF is sending a clear message: actions that undermine sportsmanship and fair play will not be tolerated.
African football remains under the microscope and discipline off the pitch matters as much as performance on it.
Also The Royal Moroccan Football Federation announces it will take legal action with CAF and FIFA over the withdrawal of the Senegalese national team during the AFCON 2025 final against Morocco.
The move, triggered after a penalty was awarded (confirmed as correct by experts), disrupted the normal flow of the match and impacted player performance.
Morocco insists that the matter be addressed through official channels to protect the integrity of African football.
