Germany Sack Julian Nagelsmann Following World Cup Disappointment; Klopp Interested in Role

Julian Nagelsmann has left his position as Germany head coach after the German Football Association decided to make a managerial change in the wake of the country’s disappointing FIFA World Cup campaign. Former Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp is understood to be willing to consider the vacancy.

Germany have officially ended Julian Nagelsmann’s tenure as national team manager after an underwhelming World Cup run that ended with an early knockout.

The decision follows Germany’s Round of 32 elimination and marks another major setback for the four time world champions, who have struggled to make a deep run at recent international tournaments.

Reports from Germany claim the federation has already reached a final decision on Nagelsmann’s future, bringing his spell in charge to an abrupt end.

With the vacancy now open, attention has turned to Jürgen Klopp. The former Liverpool manager is reportedly receptive to the opportunity of leading his country, making him one of the favourites to become Germany’s next head coach if talks progress.
