Labour Union Shut Down Power Grid

Nigeria is experiencing a widespread power outage as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) confirmed that the National Grid was intentionally disabled by the electricity workers' union.

This comes after the union decided to go on an indefinite strike, demanding a higher minimum wage than the one proposed by the Federal Government.

The national grid shut down occured at about 2.19 am on 3rd June 2024, this comes after warnings by the Federal Government to disembark from any form of strike actions.

However, TCN has commenced grid recovery protocol but it is still unknown how long this would last as the whole nation suffers from complete blackout until the Federal Government meets the workers demands.
