Fuel price reaches 1,300 across Nigeria

Ahead of the August 1st protests, the state of the Nigerian Economy took an unpleasant turn yet again as fuel prices hiked from 800/per liter on Sunday to 1300/per liter on Monday.

The recent surge in fuel prices is reported to be due to lack of petrol at PMS Depots across the country But The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited said the tightness in fuel supply and distribution was caused by a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of it’s vessels. The company added that it was “working round the clock with all stakeholders to resolve the situation and restore normalcy in operations.”

The whooping 500 Naira increase in the price of petrol overnight seems to be adding more pressure on the scheduled #EndBadGovernment protests across the country as Citizens are to take to the streets in order to urge the government to make more friendly policies amidst the current economic hardship.
