European Football Weekend Wrap-up

The 2024/2025 European football season kicked off with exciting matches across top leagues.

In the Premier League, Manchester United secured a 1-0 win over Fulham with a late Joshua Zirkzee goal, while Liverpool triumphed 2-0 against Ipswich.

Chelsea fell 2-0 to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. Arsenal started strong with a 2-0 win over Wolves.

In La Liga, Barcelona edged Valencia 2-1, thanks to Robert Lewandowski's brace, but Real Madrid was held to a 1-1 draw by Mallorca.

Ligue 1 saw PSG dominate with a 4-1 victory over Le Havre, while Marseille, powered by Mason Greenwood's two goals, thrashed their opponents 5-1.

In Serie A, Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Roma were all held to draws, while Napoli was stunned 3-0 by Hellas Verona in Antonio Conte's first game.

Elsewhere, Bayer Leverkusen won the German Super Cup on penalties, and PSV came from behind to beat Ajax 3-1 in the Eredivisie.
