Finally, back from the international break. Last weekend brought some thrilling matches that could shape some teams' future and how they end the season. The weekend started with City's 4-1 win over Liverpool at the Etihad with Haaland sidelined with an injury, City still breezed past the reds. Arsenal maintained their winning streak, beating Leeds United 4-1 with Gabriel Jesus netting two goals.

The magpies beat Manchester United 2-0 in a thrilling encounter at St. James' Park, with the win, meaning United and Newcastle swap position on the table. Chelsea lost 2-0 at home to Unai Emery's Aston Villa, which resulted in Graham Potter's sack, which drops Chelsea further down to 11th on the table

Over in Germany, Thomas Tuchel first game in charge of Bayern Munich ended in a 6 goal thriller against former club Borussia Dortmund, with Tuchel coming out on top. That win resulted in Bayern taking Dortmund's place at the top of the table. Union Berlin's win over VfB Stuttgart means they remain third ahead of SC Freiburg.

In Spain, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atlético de Madrid all secured wins to remain rooted at their positions, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, respectively. In Italy, Milan stunned Napoli, who were without star forward Victor Osimhen 4-0, thereby intensifying the race for top four finish with Roma, Milan, Inter, Juventus, Lazio and Atlanta all within close range of each other. 11 points separate Lazio at 2nd place with Juventus at 7th place.

In France, PSG lost a second consecutive home game to Lyon. Over in the Netherlands, Ajax played out a goalless draw with Go Ahead Eagles while Feyenoord extended their lead at the top after recording a victory against Groningen. As well as Potter, Brendan Rodgers also lost his job after Leicester dropped into the relegation zone.
