Trump Announces Trade Deal with Pakistan, Offers Tariff Relief to South Korea

President Donald Trump says the U.S. has finalized a trade deal with Pakistan and is giving South Korea a chance to reduce its 25% tariffs.

President Trump revealed a new U.S.-Pakistan trade agreement focused on developing Pakistan’s large oil reserves, with the possibility of future exports to India. “We’re choosing the oil company to lead this partnership,” he announced.

Separately, Trump warned that 25% tariffs on South Korean goods are imminent but offered Seoul a chance to “buy down” the rate through negotiation. Talks are ongoing, with a deadline set for August 1.

The moves add pressure on Asian allies and reflect Trump’s aggressive approach to balancing U.S. trade and foreign policy.
