IDF withdraws from Al Shifa Hospital 
The Israeli military has withdrawn its forces from Al Shifa Hospital after 14 days of fighting in and around the hospital. The IDF laid siege on the hospital after Hamas militants returned to the hospital and its surrounding areas.
 
Hundreds of people were killed in the two weeks of fighting, and much of the hospital was severely damaged. The IDF said 900 suspected militants were detained, and more than 500 were identified as members of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
 
Though the IDF has dismantled much of Hamas' military capabilities in the north and south of Gaza, elements of the group's network have emerged in pockets of the northern strip.
 
The IDF said it uncovered ammunition and gained intelligence from the operation at Al Shifa Hospital. All this comes on the heels of pressure from the international community on the Israeli government not to sanction an invasion of Rafah, the last stronghold of Hamas, which also houses over a million displaced Palestinians.
